The
Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of last night’s homicide
on Redd Street as Cortez L. Wright, 28, of the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue.
At
approximately 7:46 p.m. yesterday, officers received a call for a person shot
in the 1900 block of Redd Street. When officers arrived they located Cortez
Wright suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This
homicide occurred during the daylight and we believe several people were out in
the area at that time,” said
Major Crimes Captain James Laino “We are asking anyone with
information to please come forward.”
The
Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
