Pedestrian Struck on South 14th Street

The Richmond Police Department is investigating a crash in which a pedestrian was struck Friday morning in the city’s east end.

At approximately 8:54 a.m., a pedestrian attempting to cross South 14th Street was struck by a vehicle turning north onto 14th Street from East Cary Street. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers responding to the crash interviewed the driver, who remained at the scene, and took statements from other witnesses. The Special Operations Division-Crash Team was notified and responded and is currently investigating the Crash.

No charges are expected at this time, pending the final outcome of the investigation.
