The Richmond Police Department has identified
the victim in this morning’s
homicide in the Bellemeade neighborhood as Garry
Harrison Jr., 28, of the 2200 block of Ruffin Road.
Shortly after
midnight on Sunday, Jan. 7, police received a call for a person shot at the
intersection of Columbia Avenue and Jefferson Davis Highway. When officers
responded to the area they located a black Nissan sedan in the 2400
block of Warwick Ave with two shooting victims inside. The adult
male, Harrison, was pronounced at the scene. The second victim, an
adult female, was transported to a local hospital where she is being treated
for life threatening injuries.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and
manner of death.
