The Richmond Police
Department has identified the victim of Thursday’s homicide in the city’s Oak
Grove neighborhood as Randy L. Jones, 61, of the 1800 block of Gordon
Avenue.
At approximately 4:09 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 18, police received a call regarding a male down inside a residence in the 1800 block of Gordon Avenue. The caller stated he was checking on the welfare of the victim. When police arrived, they located Jones inside the home suffering from an apparent gunshot. He was pronounced dead at the scene
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
