Arrest Made in Fan District Shooting

The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the VCU Police Department and the Colonial Heights Police Department, has made an arrest in a shooting that occurred early this morning in the Fan District.

Blair D. Odom, 26, of the 100 block of Fairfax Avenue, Colonial Heights, was taken into custody by Colonial Heights police officers at approximately 7:15 a.m.  He has been charged with Attempted Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.  His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 1:15 a.m., officers responded to the 400 block of N Harrison Street for several reports of a shooting.  Once on the scene, they located an adult male who had been shot.  The male was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

The VCU Police Department provided surveillance images to RPD, which assisted with the identification of the suspect.
