The 2019 Faith and Community Engagement Day
WHEN:
Saturday, June 29 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
WHERE:
Pollard Park – 900 W. Brookland Park Boulevard
BACKGROUND: The Richmond Police
Department and fellow Faith Leaders will be hosting a Faith and Community
Engagement Day this weekend at Pollard Park.
The event will provide an opportunity to connect with community
members to encourage faith and wellness where they live.
“Research has shown that in
areas where faith-based organizations assist police and other public service
agencies, there is an increase in public trust and a decrease in violent
crime”, said Officer Kimberly Cheatham with the RPD Community Care Unit.
There will be musical performances, dancing, motivational speakers from various backgrounds, and local churches along with fun activities and entertainment for youth.
The event will include complimentary food and
drink and is free to the public.

attend.
