Person of Interest, Vehicle Sought in West Cary Street Homicide

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify a person of interest and locate a vehicle of interest sought in connection to a homicide on West Cary Street that happened over the Memorial Day weekend.

At approximately 10:09 p.m. on Sunday, May 26, officers were called to the 2000 block of Parkwood Avenue for the report of random gunfire. When officers arrived, they were told that a shooting occurred in the rear alley between Parkwood and West Cary Streets. Officers located Jerson S. White behind the 2100 block of West Cary Street. White was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The person of interest was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and dark-colored shoes. His photos are attached.

A black SUV, possibly a Kia Sorento, was seen leaving the scene of where the homicide happened. Attached is a photo of the vehicle and a stock photo of the SUV.
