The Richmond Police Department has cleared the first murder of the year with the arrest of Tyell Jackson, 32, of the 2900 block of North Parham Road, Henrico for the murder of Michael E. Halford, 43, of the 4500 block of Norborne Road.
At approximately 1:45
p.m., Wednesday, January 2, 2019, RPD officers were called to the 4500
block of Norborne Road for the report of a person shot. When they arrived, they
quickly located Halford’s body lying on the front porch of his home.
“This arrest is
the result of persistent police work by the Major Crimes Unit,” said Lieutenant
Faith Flippo. “Some cases are solved quickly. Others take some time to put
all the pieces together until we can make an arrest. This is one of those
cases.”
Jackson was
arrested yesterday without incident. He has been charged with:
