Arrest Made in Homicide of Child

Richmond Police detectives have charged a woman as a result of a homicide investigation involving a three-year-old girl.

At approximately 4:38 a.m. on Monday, February 15, officers were called by the Richmond Ambulance Authority to the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for a call of a child who was unconscious but breathing.  The child, Latrice Walden, 3, of the 5800 block of Orcutt Lane, died from her injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

Detectives from the Major Crimes unit responded to investigate the suspicious death and charged Danielle L. Turner, 24, of the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue, with felony child neglect.  Additional charges are pending in connection to the death of Walden. Her photo is below.
