Suspect Sought in Tampering with Auto

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the attached photo who was seen rifling through a parked vehicle last week on the city’s south side.

The victim reported that shortly before 10 p.m. on February 16 a man was seen going through the interior of her car, which was parked in the 1200 block of West 47th Street. A friend of the victim confronted the man, who began to walk away through an alley toward West 46th Street. Nothing was taken from the vehicle.

The suspect is described as approximately 6-feet tall and weighing 185 pounds. He wore a black jacket with a gray hoodie underneath, dark pants and a black ski mask covering the lower half of his face.  This individual is a potential person of interest in several thefts from vehicles and motor vehicle thefts in the Forest Hills and Westover Hills areas.
