Richmond Police detectives have arrested a man involved in a
shooting this morning on the city’s south side.
At approximately 12:53 a.m., RPD officers were called to the
2200 block of Mandalay Drive for a report of a person shot. They located a man
with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for
treatment.
Minutes later, at approximately 1:04 a.m., a second call was
received about an injured person in the parking lot of McGuire VA Medical
Center, 1200 Broad Rock Blvd. RPD officers responded and located a man with a
non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
After speaking with several witnesses, RPD detectives quickly
determined both men were shot in the 2200 block of Mandalay Drive. They have
arrested and charged Aaran M. Capek, 25, of the 500 block of W. Grace St. with
Attempted Murder and Use of Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.
At this early stage of the investigation, detectives are not
prepared to release additional details about this case.
