Arrest Made in Downtown Shooting

Richmond Police detectives have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting which occurred last week on East Broad Street.

Shortly after 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, police were called to the 300 block of East Broad Street for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they located a victim with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Witnesses stated the shooting occurred after the victim and suspect engaged in a verbal altercation.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and has since been released.

Later in the day, Christopher N. Hargrove, 31, of the 3400 block of Maury Street was arrested in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with felonious assault and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.
