Suspect Sought in Armed Robbery on Midlothian Turnpike

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the suspect in the photos who is suspected of an armed robbery which occurred on Midlothian Turnpike early this month.

Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, police were called to the 6800 block of Midlothian Turnpike for a report of an armed robbery. When officers arrived, they were told the suspect approached the counter with several items for purchase. As the store clerk attempted to assist, the suspect bent down then stood up with a black mask covering his face. With a firearm in hand, he then demanded money. The clerk handed him money from the register and the suspect began taking money as well. He then fled westbound with a black plastic bag in hand.
He is described as a black male who is approximately 6’0” tall and 260 pounds. At the time, he was wearing a black hat – which he also used as a mask, a blue and white flannel shirt, and blue jeans with several holes.
