Police Department Community Walk
WHEN: 5:30 p.m. Today, August 14, 2018
WHERE: Brookside Apartments 6540 Greenbank Road
BACKGROUND: Chief Alfred Durham, Command Staff and other Richmond Police Department officers
will walk at 5:30 p.m. today through the Elkhardt neighborhood. During
the walk, officers will speak with community members about safety concerns they
may have and what they would like to see from the Richmond Police Department.
Sector 212 Lt. Kimberly Mooney said the area has seen an increase in
property crimes, specifically theft from motor vehicles and motor vehicle
thefts.
“During this community
walk, we will go door-to-door and speak with residents and discuss ways to help
prevent these types of property crimes,” said Lt. Mooney. “We will also
work to continue building trust with residents.”
This event is the latest
in a series of walks conducted by the Richmond Police Department in
neighborhoods throughout the city.
