Suspect Sought in Attempted Bank Robbery

Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the male suspect in the photos who attempted to rob a bank this afternoon.

At approximately 12:03 p.m., officers were called to the SunTrust bank, located in the 400 block of East Grace Street, for the report of an attempted robbery. The male in the photos passed a note to a teller demanding cash. No weapon was displayed. A few moments later he left the bank without receiving any cash and fled the area on foot towards North Fourth Street. There were no injuries.

The suspect was described as a black male with a goatee who wore a plaid shirt, black trousers, white cotton gloves and a stocking cap under a khaki cap. He wore sunglasses and carried a green construction-type helmet.
