The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of this morning’s death investigation on Joplin Avenue as Eyahlamar L. Davis, 19, of the 5700 block of Lorieville Lane.
At approximately
12:52 a.m., officers were called to the 1800 block of Joplin Avenue for the
report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found an adult male suffering from
an apparent gunshot wound.
A few minutes
later, officers received another call for a person down in a grass lot in the
2100 block of Joplin Avenue. Officers found Davis, with an apparent gunshot
wound, down and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The injured male
was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was not considered life
threatening. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of Davis’
death.
