Arrests Made in Jefferson Davis Highway Homicide

November 14, 2017

The Richmond Police Department has made two arrests in connection to the homicide last month of Chanti N. Robinson in a parking lot on Jefferson Davis Highway.

Christopher L. Shelly, 39, of the 2000 block of Dinwiddie Avenue was arrested last month without incident by members of the Second Precinct Focus Mission Team. Rodney F. Lynch, 44, of the 1500 block of Ingram Avenue was arrested last week without incident, also by members of Second Precinct FMT. Shelly and Lynch have both been charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

At approximately 5:02 a.m., on Tuesday, October 10, police received a call for a person down in the 4600 block of Jefferson Davis Highway. When police arrived, they located Robinson, who had suffered injuries from gunshot wounds, unresponsive in the rear parking lot of a business. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives and Second Precinct FMT officers tirelessly worked this investigation, following leads, conducting interviews and making the arrests. The Department would also like to thank Chesterfield Police and the Crime Stoppers program for their assistance with this investigation.

Anyone with further information about this homicide is asked to call Major Crimes Detective R. Wigfall at (804) 646-6769 or contact Crime Stoppers at 780-1000 or at www.7801000.com.
