North Highland Park Hate Crime

The Richmond Police Department is investigating an incident of anti-gay vandalism that occurred last night in the city’s North Highland Park neighborhood.

Sometime between the hours of 9:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2017, a vehicle parked in the 3400 block of Delaware Avenue had the words “GAY MOVE DIE” spray-painted on it.


It is being investigated as a hate crime.


“The Richmond Police Department stands with the LGBTQ community in condemning what happened last night, said Richmond Police Chief Alfred Durham. “I have directed the Department’s LGBTQ liaison, Captain Dan Minton, to monitor the progress of the investigation to keep everyone informed.”
