Suspect Sought in Attempted Church Hill Bank Robbery

Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s help to identify the man in the photos who is a suspect in an attempted robbery that occurred on Tuesday in Church Hill.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, officers responded to the Suntrust Bank at 2500 E. Broad St. for a report of an attempted robbery. The suspect approached the teller and said he needed to cash a check. He then passed a note to the bank teller demanding money. When the teller did not comply, he fled the scene empty-handed.
The suspect is described as a black male with a medium complexion, a dark beard, dark brown eyes and two moles on his left cheek. He is in his mid-30s to mid-40s with an average build. At the time he was wearing a black brim cap, a blue jean jacket, a green polo shirt, a black T-shirt and blue jean pants.
