At around 12:30
a.m. this morning, Richmond Police Officer Robert Misegades was wounded during
a shooting that occurred in Chesterfield County.
Gunfire was
exchanged while Officer Misegades was off-duty which resulted in a juvenile who
was killed. The Chesterfield Police Department is investigating this incident
as an attempted robbery.
Officer
Misegades, a four-year veteran of the Department, was treated and released for
his injuries. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Due to this
being an active investigation, the Richmond Police Department will defer all
questions to the Chesterfield Police Department.
