The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim who
was struck by a train Sunday evening in the city’s south side as Alfredo C.
Sanic, 24, of the 2600 block of Hungary Spring Road, Henrico.
At approximately 5:55 p.m. Sunday evening, officers
responded to the railroad tracks in the area of the 4500 block of Hull
Street for the report of a person struck by a train. When they arrived,
they located Sanic who was deceased along the tracks.
Witnesses stated they observed Sanic walking southbound
along the tracks toward the Amtrak train when he was struck.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
