Victim Identified, Arrest Made in South Kinsley Avenue Homicide

The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force have made an arrest in connection to last week’s homicide on South Kinsley Avenue.

Detectives are now classifying the South Kinsley Avenue death investigation as a homicide.

At approximately 1:10 a.m., Friday, officers responded to the 2000 block of South Kinsley Avenue for the report of a person down. When officers arrived, they located Robert L. Walker Jr., 20, of the 4100 block of Leake Avenue deceased in a driveway from an apparent gunshot wound.

The suspect, Alfonzo McElroy Jr., 21, of the 3800 block of Greenbay Road, was arrested in the early morning hours on Tuesday and charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His booking photo is attached.
