Arrest Made in North 18th Street Shooting

A Chesterfield County man has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies in connection with a shooting that took place last month in Shockoe Bottom.

Kieran M. Nyangaresi, 22, of the 1000 block of Westwood Village Way in Chesterfield County, is charged with attempted murder, felonious assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He was taken into custody yesterday afternoon by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force. His booking photo is attached.
At approximately 11:40 p.m. on May 30, officers responded to the 200 block of North 18th Street in reference to shots fired. Within minutes they located the victim, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an argument.
