Suspect Indicted in North 29th Street Homicide

A Henrico man has been indicted on multiple felony charges in connection with the March homicide of Thomas Jones Sr, 54, of the 1300 block of North 29th Street.

His son, Thomas Jones Jr, 25, of the 6500 block of Tide Terrace in Henrico County, was indicted by a grand jury yesterday on charges of first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was initially arrested on May 11. His booking photo is attached.

At approximately 8:19 p.m., officers were called to the 1300 block of North 29th Street for a report of a person down. Officers arrived and found Thomas Jones Sr inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
