and RPD officers will pedal out alongside community members this Saturday as
part of the 5K Public Safety Bike Ride.
“We’ll be helping the kids gear up for a safe ride, outfitting them with helmets and ensuring their bikes are ready to go,” said Sgt. Carol Adams with the Community Care Unit. “It’s supposed to be a beautiful morning, and we’re excited to make this a fun event for all.”
Bicycles will be distributed to the first 100 young people who register online for the event. Helmets and bike locks will also be available to participants. All riders must be age 8 or older and wear close-toed shoes during the ride.
A community day will follow the bike ride and is expected to begin at noon.
