The Richmond Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Friday night.
At approximately 8:47 p.m., officers received a call for shots fired the 2700 block of North Avenue. Officers arrived and found an adult male down and unresponsive on the sidewalk. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
He was transported to a local hospital where he died Friday night. The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
