The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim of Friday’s homicide on North Avenue as Michael D. Johnson, 25, of the 2700 block of North Avenue.
At approximately 8:47 p.m., officers received a call for shots fired the 2700 block of North Avenue. Officers arrived and found Johnson, an adult male, down and unresponsive on the sidewalk. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
Johnson was transported to a local hospital where he died Friday night. The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
