Richmond Police
detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred tonight on the
city’s south side.
At approximately
8:11 p.m., officers responded to the 5100 block of Forest Hill Avenue for a
report of random gunfire. They searched the area and did not locate a victim.
Minutes later, police
received a call advising there was a person down near the intersection of
Hioaks and Jahnke roads. Officers quickly located the adult male victim, who
was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, in the roadway. He was pronounced
dead at the scene.
Detectives believe
the two scenes are related and are actively investigating.
