Man Wanted in Chamberlayne Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have arrested one man in connection with an August homicide that took place in the Ginter Park neighborhood and are asking for the public’s help to locate a second suspect.

Bernardo L. Jones Sr, 20, of Richmond, is wanted on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Jones is described as a black male, 6’ tall, weighing approximately 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. A recent photo is attached.

He should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone who sees him is asked to call police immediately.

In September, Demontrell C. Hurdle, 30, of the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Around midnight on August 21, officers were called to the 3900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for a report of a person down. They arrived to find Desmond L. Holmes, 32, of the 7900 block of Tamarind Place in Henrico County, down and unresponsive in the parking lot of an apartment building. Holmes had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
