BACKGROUND: The Richmond Police
Department is partnering with Commonwealth Autism and JP Jumpers to host a
Peeps and Police Safety Forum on October 24, which will focus on enhancing
understanding and awareness between differently-abled individuals and first
responders.
This free event will
address general safety tips for city residents as well as begin a dialogue
about Autism Spectrum Disorder and other development disabilities in an effort
to increase knowledge about them for law enforcement and the community.
